I would like to see better integration of the systems.
OpenEMS does a good job of controlling battery charging, discharging in ToU scenarios, and optimizing sales to the grid to reduce peak loads on the grid.
Evcc charges the vehicle and interacts with OpenEMS to control battery discharge.
I use the best of both systems. What’s actually missing is a consistent history in the user interfaces and time data providers.
We have been working on optimizations for these use cases over the past few months and have been able to achieve deeper integration. A lot of work has gone into PRs at evcc and OpenEMS.
Our goal is to integrate the charged energy for load points, battery control scenarios, and the shared use of grid price and solar energy providers.
The PRs at OpenEMS are now outdated, but it would be great to reopen them by mutual agreement to advance the integrations.
