Communication workflow between the OpenEMS, Huawei-SmartLogger and the Power Plant Controller

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the communication workflow between the OpenEMS, Huawei-SmartLogger and the Power Plant Controller. Does the Power Plant Controller communicate directly with the SmartLogger, or does it need to interface through OpenEMS for communication?

Additionally, could you confirm which communication protocols OpenEMS supports.
I would appreciate your insights on this.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Mansour

Hello,

Huawei SmartLogger is not Implemented. If you want we welcome you to provide a PR for this Device

BTW: I deleted your duplicated post as it was about the same Topic (we mostly speak all English)

Thanks for you quick response. So as I understand it, the SmartLogger is not supported by OpenEMS. If I were to change the system configuration to use OpenEMS, the Power Plant Controller (PPC), PV, and battery, how would the communication work? Additionally, how would the command flow be structured in this setup?
Would the PPC communicate with OpenEMS first, or can the PPC directly communicate with the PV system and the battery?

Actually i guess you did not even check our Getting Started nor look into the System

Please check this first to get an Overview of the System beforehand.

I am familiar with the system that is designed to work with the SmartLogger, but I have a specific question regarding the OpenEMS integration, as the customer would like to add it to the setup.

My question is about the workflow between the Power Plant Controller (PPC) and OpenEMS. The PPC is an automation platform designed to manage and optimize system operations, similar to what OpenEMS does, but with additional functionalities related to optimization and trading.

I see a potential overlap or conflict between OpenEMS and the PPC in terms of their roles. This is what I would like to clarify—how do these two systems interact, and how should their responsibilities be structured to avoid redundancy or conflicts?

Looking forward to your insights.

@Sn0w3y any comment?

I can’t answer your question right now, but I would like to point out that this is a community forum for an open source project, and most people are here voluntarily. Asking again is probably fine, but after a few days, not minutes.
