Simon here from Smart Energy Solutions coming to you with my very first post. 
You may remember me from last year’s OpenEMS Conference. (Unfortunately I missed it this year since I do not appear to receive the newsletter anymore.)
We’ve been working with OpenEMS for a while now and have realized that onboarding new people with the official documentation is often a bit difficult. So I opened a PR a while ago contributing back our changes to the getting started guide. I suspect it might have gotten lost over the summer months…
The reworked text splits the guide into a path for developers and one for people who just want to get a prebuilt instance up and running as quickly as possible. I tried not to reinvent the wheel and the structure is heavily inspired by the documentation of some other popular open source software.
I am looking forward to any feedback
