Hello OpenEMS Community,
I’m exploring the possibility of using a VPS (Virtual Private Server) to host the backend for my OpenEMS setup and would appreciate your insights regarding the feasibility and optimal specifications for this solution.
My goal is to ensure transparency in my energy management system by accurately tracking and analyzing electricity costs. This includes gathering data on production, consumption, and depreciation for investments per kilowatt hour.
I would like to ask:
- Is hosting the OpenEMS backend on a VPS a viable solution for ensuring smooth and real-time data handling?
- What specifications would you recommend for such a VPS, especially in terms of storage, CPU, and memory, to handle potentially large datasets?
- Are there any known limitations or challenges when using a VPS for this purpose?
- Any recommendations on VPS providers with suitable plans for handling energy data?
Your experience and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your guidance!
