Over the past months we have been engineering our new hardware; we just ported the OpenEMS runtime and working at the project completion by connecting the relevant hardware drivers to the OpenEMS edge.
We’re now entering the alfa test phase and looking for experienced users who can put the system through its paces and give us candid feedback.
What you’ll be testing
- Hardware: based on iMX93, 1.5GB RAM, 4GB flash.
- Meter: embedded 3phase energy meter (either direct connection or current transducer); plug’n play additional 3ph channels
- Software: ongoing porting of OpenEMS
- Target use cases: DER-EMS, HEMS, battery storage, EV charging
What we ask of testers
- Install and use the platform in a real‑world scenario
- Share structured feedback (performance metrics, bug reports, feature requests)
- Optional: join a short video call to discuss findings.
What you’ll get in return
- Early access to production‑grade hardware and the latest firmware / software stack.
- Direct influence on the feature roadmap—your input will shape the final release.
How to participate
- Reply in this thread with a brief overview of your background and test environment.
- We’ll confirm selection and ship the hardware at our expense (worldwide).
- Once the test period ends, you may return or keep the unit, depending on your preference.
Key dates
- Application deadline: May 31st
