Hello OpenEMS Community, I am working in a production environment comprising 7 sub-installations and main grid connection, each currently using consumption_metered as meter type , alongside a grid meter for the main connection that measures the total net power/energy. My challenge arises from the fact that these sub-installations act as prosumers, both consuming and producing energy, and relying solely on consumption metering does not account for production within the OpenEMS platform. My goal is to accurately measure both the energy imported and exported by each sub-installation. Therefore, I would like to know if it is feasible to implement grid meter for each sub-installations, similar to the main meter setup, to reliably measure their contributions to the grid in terms of both importing and exporting energy like 8 grid meters 1 act as the main measure the total and others are for sub grid meters for each installation, or should we work with production_consumption as meter type what is the diffrent.
Hi,
are you concerned about calculating the correct meter values or visualizing the main- and sub-meters propery in OpenEMS UI?
If it’s about calculating, you should be able to use “Virtual Meters” to calculate quite anything.
If it’s about UI: there we currently lack support for complicated setups.

Stefan
