Getting Started with OpenEMS for a Small-Scale Solar Setup

Hey everyone,

I am new to OpenEMS & trying to wrap my head around how to set it up for a small-scale solar project I am working on. The idea is to monitor & manage a few solar inverters and battery storage units in a home setup.

I have gone through the documentation a bit but I am still unsure about which components I actually need to get started. I also wanted to ask if there is a suggestion hardware setup or if Raspberry Pi is good enough for testing things out before I scale.

While I come from a software background and have done some Java Training in the past I am still trying to get comfortable with the OpenEMS framework and how everything ties together.

Aslo i have check this https://community.openems.io/t/ajax-error-while-creating-openems-getting-started/2609 If anyone has tips templates or hardware suggestions for home-based systems I appreciate the guidance.

Thank you…

Hi @Sofiaya

for testing i would recommend a Docker deployment, easy to setup.

For the prod Deployment i am also using Docker for the UI and SystemD on the Edge Device at the Inverter (RaspberryPi4)

Works like a charm for me, but it is only a small home deployment.
